April is Child Abuse Prevention month. Even though COVID19 has halted most regular activities, Tri-County Family Care Center (TCFCC), wants to acknowledge the annual “Pinwheels For Prevention” campaign, which was started by Prevent Child Abuse America. The pinwheel represents our commitment to ensure happy childhoods and highlights PCA Colorado’s efforts to change the way our state and local government think about prevention. They should focus on community activities and public policies that prioritize prevention, right from the start, to make sure child abuse and neglect never occur.
The pinwheels represent a bright future for our children and our community. We want all children to live in stable, loving, and stimulating environments – at home, in school, and in the community. If you care about children, please assist our agencies to prevent child abuse and neglect, support healthy childhood development, and strengthen families. Look for the blue and silver pinwheels in front of our building, which represent the “Pinwheels For Prevention” campaign. The Week of the Young Child is April 13 – 17. The purpose of this week is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families, as well as, recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
